I met Liz a few years ago when her family moved to Florida and we became fast friends. She had such an enthusiasm for life and wonderful spirit. She was a dedicated wife and mother of three. We were tennis partners and had so much fun playing together - she was awesome! She was so competitive - I had the opportunity to speak with her 2 weeks before she passed away and she was still frustrated that we were one match shy of being undefeated!
As most of you know, Liz lost her battle with liver cancer on January 23, 2010. Everyone that had the opportunity to know this wonderful person will miss her dearly. She fought such a corageous battle - she will always be an inspiration to me.
I have been wanting to do something to honor this dear friend. I decided to compete in St Anthony's triathlon in St Petersburg, FL on April 25th in her memory. Liz was an amazing athlete and I know she would be proud to see me doing my first olympic distance race. Please consider donating to "sponsor" me in this effort. I was visiting my Aunt Laurie from AZ and she and I took a tennis clinic at the FR Club and that is where we met Liz. She and her family had just moved to PBG. She was so nice, energetic, and in amazing, unbelievable shape. That day I knew she would not only be an asset to the tennis team but would also become a special friend of Laurie's. I am so sorry to hear the news as I know she fought an extremely difficult battle. This is a great way to honor Liz and I am glad to support your effort. Good luck Randi!
