Many of you have heard that Bruno Almeida, a student at Spears Elementary in Frisco, is ill and has been in the hospital. Bruno was recently diagnosed with a serious illness (acute myeloid leukemia) and will be receiving treatment at Children's Medical Center in Dallas for the foreseeable future. Right now, Bruno is receiving treatment (chemo), responding well and is keeping a positive attitude with the help of his family and his faith. He is keeping busy with the many activities that the hospital's Child Life Department provides their patients (art carts, Wii games).

Bruno lives with his father, mother and sister, Gabby. Bruno's mother and sister have had to quit their jobs to be at the hospital with Bruno. The do not have health insurance. This has put a considerable strain on the family.  We are working to set up a bank account to help with the financial burden both immediate and long term, this is an easy online way to donate.

Many people have asked how they can help Bruno and his family so we have set up a fundraiser for them. Thank you so much for your consideration. The families of Spears elementary and the Frisco community have already been so generous. Christmas has been taken care of by many generous contributions and a special fundraiser that is selling reindeer food for $1 a package!
