UDATE:  Billy passed away in my arms on February 1, 2010.  Thank you to all who have supported me and Billy.  It helped to give us hope during this hard time.  The money collected will be used to cover Billy's most recent medical bills and any proceeds after will be donated in Billy's name to an organization helping to rescue animals in Haiti.

Billy has been there for Michaela through good and bad times for almost 9 years.  For the last  year and a half, Billy has been sick and Michaela has spent at least $10,000 in diagnostic testing and treatment.  Recently, Billy was rushed to the emergency vet.  Michaela was told that if Billy did not have surgery on her liver and gall bladder that she would need to have Billy euthenized.  Michaela used the last of her money to pay for Billy's immediate care.  In order for Michaela to save her best friend's life, she must come up with at least $5,000 for surgery.  The doctors have ensured Michaela that Billy's prognosis is good with surgery  and that Billy's life will be extended for years.  Billy has helped Michaela through some very hard times and Michaela is hoping they can spend many more years together.  Please do what you can to help Michaela help Billy.

UPDATE:  Billy had chest xrays and the doctors are very concerned about masses in her lungs.  She will be going back to the vet this week for another check up.  It is unclear at this point, what Billy's medical needs will be.  Donations may be applied to veterinary costs and quality of life support for Billy, if the doctors no longer recommend surgery.
